Jump Start Your Heart! Click the link for more information about the upcoming February 3rd dance at Farquhar. And if you wear red on the 3rd $1 from your ticket sale will be donated to the American Heart Association to help raise awareness about Heart Disease. We’re calling it your Red Dollar!!!

The Red Dollar will earn you 1 free raffle ticket for the chance to win a prize. You must wear red to earn a red dollar raffle ticket. Buy more for $1 each to increase your chances of winning. Check out the flyer for more details and come join us on the 3rd for the dance!

Valentine’s Day Dance Friday

The Valentine’s Day Dance is this Friday night!

When: Friday, February 19, 2009
Time: 7-9pm (please pick up your child promptly at 9pm)
What: Pizza, soda, water, and candy will be sold during dance
Cost: Admission is $5/person (we will probably be able to sell tickets during lunch on Wed, Thur, Fri, as well as at the door)
What else: DJ has prizes to give away

The rising cost of college over the years has brought college planning front and center in many families minds. More than ever, families are seeking out information on how to reduce the financial burden of college so they can more easily accomplish their other financial goals. College funding has become more complicated over the years- changing tax laws and financial aid rules make the process overly confusing. Most parents, at one point, have asked one of the following questions: Where can my student find scholarship money? Should we pay for school out of our current income? Should we borrow, and from where? How should we best spend down the savings we already have? Are there any possible tax savings for college available to us? Can I afford private college, or just in-state public ones? It is important to get these answers and more in advance!

Where and when you ask? Friday, March 20th at Farquhar Middle School from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. It will be an exciting night with games, prizes, food, cakewalk, raffle, and silent auction. We hope to see you there!

**We are requesting donations for the cake walk. We need bags of candy, cakes, donuts, anything the dentist hates but we love**

If you can donate an item to the cakewalk, please email Wendy Wykoff at swykoff@verizon.net and let her know what you can give. You can bring the item the night of the event.

Help Sherwood’s After Prom Committee raise funds! Visit the Fractured Prune on New Hampshire Ave. in the Cloverly Village Center on May 10 and/or 11 and 15% of the profits will go towards Sherwood High School’s After Prom Activities.

It might seem like a long time from now, but your son or daughter will be graduating one day and attending the After Prom party. The party’s purpose is to give the students a safe place to hang out and have fun. The party starts at midnight and ends at 5AM. It has saved lives and eased many concerned parents. Maybe you one day. So, won’t you please help.
