Swine Flu Virus

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a public health alert due to the increase of swine flu cases in the United States.

Montgomery County Public Schools is in close contact with the county
Department of Health and Human Services, Public Health Services
(DHHS/PHS). The county is working closely with the state Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and the CDC to monitor the situation and willshare further guidance with the school system as it becomes available. At this time, you are advised to continue to take the general precautions for preventing seasonal flu and other communicable diseases:

* Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
Throw the tissue in the trash.
* Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you
cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
* Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs spread that way.
Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
* If you get sick, stay home from work or school and limit contact
with others to keep from infecting them.
