PTA Meeting – Next Years’ Budget (4/14)
How would you like to see your money spent?
Is the directory indispensible to you? Do you think money should be spent on technology for the classroom, after school programs or funding field trips? The PTA also funds two (2) of the school dances, the Eighth Grade dance, Roadrunner Night, the Farquhar Forum (monthly newsletter), and spirit wear.
What do you think is a priority each school year? Is there something that you would like to see offered to the children through the PTA that currently is not?
The PTA meeting is focusing on what we, the parents, feel is
the best way to use the funds we generously donated during the school year. We fell short of our $17,000.00 goal and with a projected lower enrollment for next year, we can expect our budget to shrink even more. With that in mind, it is time to collectively decide our priorities. Please take a look at our budget, found in the PTA Documents link and bring it with you, along with your ideas, to the meeting for an open discussion.
Mr. Murphy is providing the activote system (our kids use them in class), and promethean boards to give us a fun interactive way to prioritize our thoughts.
This June, when the outgoing and incoming board members meet to create next year’s budget, this information can be used to guide them. This is your opportunity for your voice to be heard!
