New! Online Prepayment Lunch Money Service
From the MCPS website:
The Division of Food and Nutrition Services is excited to announce mylunchmoney.com, a new online service offered which allows parents to make prepayments to their child’s cafeteria account with a credit card or debit card via the Internet. Once the mylunchmoney.com account is established, parents can check account balances, view the child’s purchases, set up recurring payments, and receive low balance notifications.
In addition to information on the Division of Food & Nutrition Services’ Web page, there will be information on the MCPS home Web page and on the parent’s section of the MCPS Web site. Specific information has been shared with cafeteria managers so they will be able to provide information to students and parents.
There is a $1.95 convenience fee for each payment transaction. All fees are displayed at the time of payment. There is no cost to set up an account and check your childs spending history or receive low balance notifications. Neither the school nor the Division of Food and Nutrition Services receive any income from providing this service. Fees are associated with processing online credit/debit card payments. This service is optional – schools will continue to accept checks and cash for meals in the cafeteria.
You will need your child’s student ID in order to sign up for this service. You will not see the current balance immediately, but according to the website it should appear in 24 hours. It looks like there are lot’s of other useful tools on this site. Check it out!
