PTA CULTURAL ARTS COMMITTEE SEEKS VOLUNTEERS
Our PTA Cultural Arts Committee has the exciting job of selecting and arranging for high-quality performances at Farquhar that enrich the educational program of our children. Last year, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders enjoyed the amazing a cappella group Almost Recess, and “Eight is Never Enough,” an improvisation group of talented New York-based actors. This year, we are hoping to expand our program by possibly increasing the number of performances provided to our students and by creating opportunities to bring performances during evening events so families may enjoy them as well.
Each year, free showcases of performers are held in the fall. Upcoming showcases are scheduled for September 27, October 1, October 4 & October 11, at the Carver Educational Center Auditorium, 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville, MD 20850, from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm each day. Different performers present every 15 minutes, and each day features different performers.
